Wise Roots Consulting is a locally rooted landscape consulting practice based in the South Okanagan, grounded in horticultural knowledge, ecological awareness, and a thoughtful approach to residential landscapes.

Our Approach

Jodi Smith
Head Horticulturist & Designer
Jodi Smith brings 20 years of experience in the landscape industry, with hands-on work spanning residential maintenance, installation, and landscape design. This full-spectrum background gives her a practical understanding of how outdoor spaces are built, cared for, and evolve over time — not just how they look on paper.
She holds a diploma in Horticultural Sciences, specializing in landscape design and installation, and approaches every project with a strong foundation in plant knowledge, site conditions, and long-term functionality. Her experience working directly in gardens informs designs and recommendations that are realistic, manageable, and well-suited to the South Okanagan climate.
Jodi is known for helping homeowners gain clarity, avoid costly missteps, and make confident decisions about their landscapes. Her work emphasizes thoughtful planning, ecological awareness, and creating outdoor spaces that feel intentional, balanced, and sustainable for the long term.
Chelsea Ealey
Design Assistant & Head Gardener

Chelsea is the owner of Chelsea’s Garden, a locally based garden care business serving the South Okanagan. She collaborates with Wise Roots Consulting to support design implementation, ongoing maintenance, and hands-on garden care.
With a strong background in practical garden work, Chelsea brings valuable on-the-ground experience to every project. Her focus on plant health, seasonal timing, and detailed care ensures that landscapes are not only well designed, but properly supported as they grow and mature.
Chelsea’s calm, attentive approach and deep familiarity with residential gardens make her an essential part of the team, helping ensure landscapes remain healthy, functional, and well cared for over time.
